Promotion of Sergeant Jim Warren

Sergeant Warren graduated from Hillcrest High School in Ottawa in 1977 before being hired on by the Peel Regional Police Service in 1982.
He commenced his career with our Police Service as a Constable on September 5, 1989.
During his policing career Sergeant Warren has served in the Patrol, Administration and Criminal Investigation Sections. He has been assigned as a Coach Officer, Court Liaison Officer, Joint Forces Drug Officer and most recently to our Traffic Section as an Acting Sergeant.
Chief Ron Nagle commended Sergeant Warren in 1999 for his involvement in the arrest of three male suspects who were responsible for multiple break and enters, thefts of outboard motors and trafficking in drugs. A total of $47,000.00 in property was recovered and approximately $11,000.00 worth of illicit drugs was seized during this investigation.
Sergeant Warren received a further Chief’s Commendation from Chief Cook in 2008 for his involvement in a sexual assault investigation in our community which, lead to second-degree murder charges against this suspect for his involvement in a high-profile murder in Ottawa.
Sergeant Warren was an active member of the North Bay Police Association sitting on a number of committees and holding various positions on the Executive including President.
