Chief Ron Nagle:
Chief Ron Nagle served three years with the Royal Canadian Navy and then worked for a year as a welder before joining the Ontario Provincial Police in 1966.
For nine years, he worked at various detachments across Northern Ontario, including a two-year asssignment where he paid regular visits to remote native reserves such as Attawapiskat, Fort Albany, and Lansdowne House.
He first joined the North Bay Force in 1974 as a constable. He was promoted to sergeant in 1981 and inspector in 1985. In 1987, he became Deputy Chief and Chief in 1996. Chief Nagle held the position of chief for four years. He retired in the Year 2000 after a 26-year career with the Force. He is succeeded in the position by Chief George Berrigan. His word was his bond, he was committed to his job, community, and the men and women who worked under him.
