Special Constable June Degagne has been employed with the North Bay Police Service-court section since 1992. In 2004, after hearing the Chief of Police and the North Bay Police Association make a small donation to the Santa Fund on the Carmen Riccutti Radio Telethon , Special Constable Degagne decided to take matters into her own hands. Believing that a more substantial donation could be collected on behalf of our members, June began organizing different functions and luncheons at the North Bay Courthouse to raise money for the Santa Fund. The first year netted approximately $400.00 for the fund with the amounts growing by leaps and bounds over the years to the current donation for 2009 of $1154.34.

S/Cst Degagne is a genuine, caring person who is not concerned about personal recognition for her good deeds. She raises these funds out of a true love for the Christmas Season and what it represents. Special Constable Degagne takes great pride in raising these funds and works tirelessly throughout the year to ensure that a sizeable donation can be made to the Santa Fund so that underprivileged children can enjoy the Christmas season. The fund for the 2010 season has already been started and is well on its way. Special Constable Degagne reminds everyone that there is only 341 shopping days until Christmas.
