Domestic Violence Coordinating Committee Award

The Domestic Violence Coordinating Committee of Nipissing (DVCC) is a community wide, multi-disciplinary partnership set up to effectively address domestic violence in the District of Nipissing. The committee sets out to develop and facilitate the implementation of a coordinated, effective response to the identification, assessment, response and prevention of domestic violence in our community.

On February 26th 2009 the DVCC presented awards to individuals in the medical and policing professions in recognition of their commitment and dedication to the service of those affected by domestic violence.

Constable Stacy Jackson of the North Bay Police Service was one of the honoured award recipients. Constable Jackson was selected because of his exemplary service involving an attempt murder domestic violence investigation. He was recognized by the victim in that incident. He was additionally nominated for his investigation and interaction with the victim of a historical domestic violence investigation. His commitment, care and the compassion shown to victims affected by domestic violence is exceptional.
