RIDE STATS
During the past weekend, officers of the North Bay Police Service were conducting RIDE checks within the area and stopped 188 vehicles.
During this time 1 Roadside Test was administered,
2 Highway Traffic Act charges were laid
3 Criminal charges were laid
2 Highway Traffic Act warnings were issued
1 Liquor Licence Act charge was issued
ENDANGERS LIVES
On Saturday the 6th of Feb. shortly after 11 PM a marked North Bay Police Service cruiser was stopped southbound at the flashing red railway crossing signals on the bypass near Fisher St.
At this time a northbound vehicle went speeding over the tracks as a west bound train was entering the roadway.
The officers were able to turn around and stop the vehicle that contained 5 young men.
The driver was charged with disobeying the train lights.
FORCIBLE ENTRY
On the 6th of Feb. shortly before 2 AM Sgt. Helen Kent and Cst. Matt Parker of the North Bay Police Service arrested a male in relation to complaints of attempted entry into two homes.
It is alleged that a male was attempting to forcibly enter two separate homes in the West Ferris area of the city.
Lance FISHER 24 years old of Gertrude St. is charged with Forcible Entry and Trespass By Night. He is to attend court at a later time.
SCENE
On the 6th of Feb. shortly after midnight it is alleged that a woman assaulted a male that was not known to her within a Lakeshore Dr. restaurant.
Then this same female went into the washroom followed by her boyfriend who damaged the interior of the room.
They then left in a cab and this information was passed on to the North Bay Police Service. A RIDE unit was operating nearby and stopped the cab in question.
As the woman was being removed from the cab she began to fight with the officers to such an extent that a passing OPP vehicle stopped and those officers rendered assistance.
The 21 year old male was charged with Mischief and Obstruct Police in regards to attempting to stop the officers from arresting his girlfriend and the female was charged with assault. Both are to attend court at a later date.
STOLEN VEHICLE
Overnight on the 5th of Feb. a vehicle was left unattended at a strip mall on Seymour St. and upon return the next day by the owner this vehicle was gone.
It is described as being a 2003 One ton white Dodge pickup 4 X 4 with black stacks protruding through the box and a “GIT’R DONE” sticker on the front windshield. There was also some damage to the passenger side tail gate.
